Robert J. Herbst is a Licensed Acupuncturist, Board Certified Herbalist, Root Cause Medicine Practitioner, and Functional Medicine Specialist with more than 18 years of clinical experience helping patients identify and address the underlying causes of chronic illness.
As Founder of Care Wellness Center’s Root Cause Medicine Program, Robert combines the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine with modern functional medicine, advanced laboratory testing, nutrition, lifestyle medicine, and personalized supplementation to create comprehensive treatment plans that restore health from the inside out.

Robert is recognized as one of South Florida’s leading acupuncture specialists for fertility and reproductive medicine. For nearly two decades he has worked alongside reproductive endocrinologists and fertility specialists, providing acupuncture support for natural conception, IVF, IUI, and Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET). He has completed advanced postgraduate education and/or training with internationally recognized fertility experts including Jane Lyttleton, Giovanni Maciocia, Lee Hullender Rubin, Irina Szmelskyj, Lianne Aquilina, and Randine Lewis.
His clinical expertise was further strengthened through more than two years of advanced mentorship with Dr. Fu Di, MD (China), where he received extensive training in infertility, women’s health, Chinese herbal medicine, autoimmune disorders, pain management, and psychological conditions.
Robert earned his Master’s Degree in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine from The Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine after completing a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Albizu University, Miami Institute of Psychology. His unique educational background allows him to appreciate the powerful connection between physical health, emotional well-being, and the nervous system, an approach that has become a cornerstone of his patient care.
He is nationally board certified in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), one of the profession’s highest credentials, and is licensed to practice acupuncture throughout the State of Florida.
In addition to his clinical practice, Robert is an established health educator and content creator, reaching a growing audience of more than 10,000 followers through educational content focused on Root Cause Medicine, functional health, the gut-brain connection, and natural approaches to optimizing wellness.
Through seminars, podcasts, patient education, and social media, he is passionate about translating complex health concepts into practical strategies that empower individuals to take control of their health and make informed decisions about their wellness.
Earlier in his career, Robert presented educational lectures at the University of Miami for physicians interested in incorporating acupuncture into their medical practices.
